Student review
Polygence was a unique experience that gave me unparalleled knowledge and skills that I can apply to any of my future academic endeavors. My mentor, Colleen, was great at walking me through the structural components of a paper, doing the research necessary, and how to know what to write. Her feedback and teaching is something I will never forget. A big thanks to my mentor and the Polygence organization!

Project description
Defense departments are increasingly paying attention to cybersecurity. Ryan's paper takes two very different players in cybersecurity—the US and Iran—and outlines their general approaches, finds areas of potential conflict, and explores potential policy proposals to avoid confrontation in the future. In this sense, his paper makes a wider contribution to the many ways in which states are pursuing cyber goals today. It also contributes to the discussion of how even non-allied states might work together in this sphere.
Project outcome
Ryan submitted his paper to The Concord Review where it is currently under review.
