Project by Polygence alum Sheila

Project's result
My project outcome was a podcast on the different parts of what makes Kpop parasocial relationships unique. In my podcast music, speaking, tone control, and interesting stories are all discussed in my podcast. I also have created a script for my podcast that with some editing can be turned into a paper on the different parts of Kpop parasocial relationships. In the process of creating this podcast a surprising outcome happened, the creation of a logo, which adds a creative factor to my informational podcast. I hope everyone can enjoy listening.

With the popularization of social media, Kpop parasocial relationships has become a trending topic of discussion. This research explores how kpop parasocial relationships impact teenagers’ mental health, daily lives, and developing ideology. Using interactions from social media and other research, a podcast will be created to better understand the effects of these relationships on developing teenagers around the world. In addition, the neurological and physiological underpinnings of celebrity idolization will also be investigated. Hello everyone! My name is Sheila and my project is on Parasocial Relationships in K-pop. I have always been wanted to discover what it is about Parasocial Relationships that makes it so prominent in K-pop; I also wanted to learn about how Entertainment Companies take advantage of this human nature. Project review
“The mentor guiding me through each way really helped. I really enjoyed scrolling on Google Scholar at 3am in the morning trying to find relevant articles towards my topic. This experienced helped to understand how to work on a project that mostly just for yourself without any merits added to it, no body told me I had to do this it was up to my own will power.”
