Reproductive Justice in Post-Roe America: Disproportionate Impacts on Undocumented Immigrants

They started it from zero. Are you ready to level up with us?

Summary

This research project explores the consequences of the reversal of Roe v. Wade, which eliminated the constitutional right to get an abortion. I intend to explore the impact of the Dobbs Decision on women of color and how socioeconomic factors affect a woman's access to reproductive rights in a post-Roe era. By analyzing policy, I hope to understand and examine the systematic barriers against groups of women and how race, class, and sexuality play a role in a woman's access to abortion, and through this understanding, I intend to find strategies across policy, community, and healthcare systems in order to further reproductive justice for marginalized populations in the country.

Project review

“It was a really wonderful experience -- I learned so much, both about the topic I was researching, but also on how to properly conduct and compile research.”

About my mentor

“My mentor was incredible; she really helped me figure everything out, because I was new to the research space, and I learned a lot. She does an incredible job of balancing helping and guiding you, but also letting you steer the reins of your own project. She explains things in a way that is digestible and easy to understand, and is always willing to help you!”
