Arts Research

"You use a glass mirror to see your face. You use works of art to see your soul." - George Bernard Shaw

Though talent is part of the equation, artistic skill is far from an innate quality. The capacity for creativity and self-expression is something that can be cultivated through research. Whether your medium is creative writing, visual art, music, dance, acting, film-making, or photography, conducting research on the great creators you admire in your field is extremely fruitful for enriching your own practice. Research in the Arts involves a deep qualitative analysis of esteemed works in your field in order to improve your own technique and expand your creative toolbox. Art allows us to connect with what makes us uniquely human. Through consuming and creating art, we get to feel our emotions and explore our experiences to their fullest extent. If a particular art practice speaks to you and a creative output is desirable, consider a research project in the arts.
