Bio

I'm passionate about storytelling in all forms. As a lifelong theatre artist and current UX/graphic designer, I am always asking what's important about a message - who is the audience? What can they learn? From visual and performing arts projects, to personal branding, to data visualization and case study design, I love creating and testing various ways of presenting a story for maximum impact and accessibility. In my spare time I love to hike, climb, garden, bake, and learn a new crafting hobby every 2-3 weeks (pottery was a big hit, woodcarving might be next).

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Cracking a Case Study

Graphic design involves a lot of creative leaps from start to finish, but it's not just the final draft that matters - clients and employers want to see your thinking throughout the process. This project starts with a finished design and asks you to retrace your steps, writing out your design reasoning, branding choices, visual research inspirations, accessibility audits, and alternate options. How can you craft a narrative that supports your work?

Teaching experience

Arts education - I have taught and directed theatre (classical, physical comedy, text analysis, scenic design) to students ages 8-18, and I am currently teaching making/creative engineering to students ages 6-12. Tutoring - I have tutored 12-13 year olds for standardized testing in math and reading.
