- Research Program Mentor

PhD candidate at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)

Economics, Finance, Biology

My name is Min, and I'm a PhD candidate pursuing a degree in Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I was born in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, but I grew up and spent most of my life in Los Angeles. I received my bachelors of science from UCLA in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics with a specialty in Economics and Finances. Since 2011, I've been tutoring peers, colleagues, and students in various subjects, ranging from life and physical sciences to economics and statistics. I am a strong proponent of education, and I believe everyone can achieve success. In my teachings, I emphasize the value of critical thinking beyond our comfort zone, diversifying our knowledge, and applying them in a practical, real-life setting.

Demystifying Inflation

Inflation is defined in so many ways, ranging from de-valuing of the U.S. currency to prices of goods and services unable to catch up with high demand and low supply. We will discuss how to measure inflation, whether inflation is truly "good" for the economy, and how to regulate the monetary supply when inflation goes wrong.
