Bio
I am a current 3rd year neuroscience Ph.D. student at Yale University. I am broadly interested in the CRF system and how this system modulates the NE system. I am interested in exploring how these two systems act in concert to facilitate a stress response and how to manipulate these systems to decrease a stress response. More broadly, I would like to bridge the gap between behavior and physiology during my thesis work. Outside of lab I have a plethora of interests. I enjoying working out, cooking, and playing Bingo. I also enjoy trying new foods and eating at different restaurants. I also enjoy mentoring students of varying educational backgrounds and levels.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Neuropsychiatric Illness Overview
The general theme of research would be a particular neuropsychiatric illness. Students could learn about different research models used in neuroscience research. In addition to this, they would learn about the translational aspect and the clinical relevance of basic research. Thus, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of basic research. We could identify an illness and go through the process of finding the best model organism to study this disorder in and the implications.
