How Do Different Generations' Friend Groups Shape Their Politics?
Existing political science research suggests that people come to their politics through their families and the institutions around them, such as churches and their workplaces. But as less and less people participate in these type of politics-generating institutions, is it the case that their friends are taking a bigger role in shaping their politics? A potential project idea would be conducting focus groups of people at different ages, but perhaps centering on teenagers/young adults, to see how people come to their politics and what the particular impact of friendship is on young people.
