Bio
Hello! I am a 27-year-old documentary filmmaker with experience working for film production companies in Los Angeles and as an independent freelance director. I have had experience on film sets, working with editors, and researching and licensing archival materials for documentaries. I recently graduated from Duke's MFA in Experimental and Documentary Film program where I refined my cinematography, producing, storytelling, and video editing skills. My storytelling focus is on character driven stories and historical narratives.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Narrative Structure in Video Editing
In this project we will explore narrative structure through editing a short video. We could begin in the planning or writing process and then move to shooting the video then editing the footage. Or if you already have content we can work solely on editing. This video could be something educational, personal, fictional, or documentary. It's up to you! During the course of this video editing project we will explore how to highlight themes, select strong soundbites or write dialogue for fiction, and weave storylines. I look forward to working together!
