Bio

My educational passions are centered around engineering and innovative technologies. I concentrated in unmanned aerial vehicle design and composite materials, two of the most leading-edge technologies today. Learning more about the engineering design process from idea to prototype is a main focus of what I do every day and what my past and current education is focused on. As a former Boy Scout I enjoy just about anything outdoors, from hiking and mountain biking to camping and kayaking. I also spend a lot of time volunteering at a dog shelter and an aviation museum where I assist in the restoration of a WWII FG-1D Corsair. One of my biggest interests is Formula 1. From the engineering to the exciting racing, I am all about Team Ferrari.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Global Warming & Aviation: A Compounding Effect on One Another

As the earth heats up due to global warming many aspects of life and technology will be impacted. Aircraft are highly dependent on air and changes in temperature impact their aerodynamic and engine performance. In this research project you will investigate the impacts of atmospheric warming on the performance of aircraft and their engines. Together we will work to understand the compounding effects of rising global temperatures and the increase in emissions from aircraft performance degradation.

I have experience in both Arduino and VBA

Teaching experience

I assist in an annual STEM project in which I mentor local high school in a 10-school engineering project my company hosts. I guide the students throughout the engineering design process in technical, hands-on and written assignments.
