Bio
I am an environmental and reproductive epidemiologist passionate about using data to inform policy and interventions. Most of my research seeks to clarify the relationship between exposure to harmful chemicals during pregnancy and adverse birth outcomes, such as preterm delivery. I am particularly interested in chemicals in beauty products and their influence on women's reproductive health outcomes. Outside of my research, I enjoy traveling, eating, and spending time with my family. I love being physically active, but I am not good at sports.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Using publicly-available datasets to evaluate policy interventions
There are many types of projects we could work on together. As an example, we could investigate whether a particular policy intervention (e.g., Clean Air Act) influenced changes in an outcome (e.g., # preterm births, CO2 levels in a local community, etc.) over time.
Science communication and outreach
Science communication is an important component of conducting research. Together, we could research a topic of interest and create an easy-to-use resource (e.g., commercial, blog post, or newsletter) to explain our findings to general audiences.

I have an extensive history of mentorship and teaching which began during my sophomore year of college. Most recently, I worked with another graduate student in my department to develop a structured training program which equipped students for undergraduate research. As part of the endeavor, we also developed a paid summer internship and course within our university (ENVR 240 - Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Training).Credentials
