Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Temperature changes at electrode surfaces
Measuring temperature at the interface can be a tough nut to crack. Using electrochemical techniques, I propose that we can use a combination of methods to sense temperature changes at the surface within fractions of a degree.
DNA folding around a molecule
Theoretically, we should be able to determine which DNA residues would interact with the different functional groups on a molecule. I propose that you could use a folding software to determine the orientation of the hydrogen bonds that form between a DNA sequence and an arbitrary molecule.
