Bio

Hi everyone! My name is Dina, I’m originally from Boston but I have spent the past few years studying at Stanford University, and am now working at Palantir in New York City. During my time at Stanford, I completed both a Bachelor's degree in Math and a Master's degree in Computer Science with a focus in Machine Learning. My graduate courses and projects covered many ML fields including computer vision, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, deep generative models, and more. I also did Medical AI research with a professor in the Stanford Medical School that involved using deep neural networks to classify tumors based on MRI scans, and published a paper with our findings. Outside of academics and work, I like to run with my dog T-rex and generally spend time outdoors. I'm also learning to bake interesting things so let me know if you have any suggestions :)

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Building a Predictive Machine Learning Model (Beginners)

Building a Machine Learning Model that makes predictions about something that interests you. For example, given an image of sheet music, a model that classifies the composer or artist.

Building a Generative Machine Learning Model (Advanced)

Building a Machine Learning Model that generates something that interests you. For example, given a training set of music, a model that can generate its own music in a given style or genre.

Coding skills

Python, Java, C, C++, MatLab, Swift, PyTorch

Languages I know

French, Russian

Teaching experience

Throughout my time at Stanford, I was a teaching assistant for multiple undergraduate computer science courses, undergraduate math courses, and a business school course. In addition, I have previously done 1-1 tutoring and mentoring with middle school and high school students.
