Confirmation Bias
Supreme Court nominations and confirmations have become increasingly contentious in recent years. This project explores the language used by prominent news sources to uncover how they describe different Supreme Court nominees. Are there consistent patterns? Are some nominees covered more favorably than others? If so, why?
Checks, Balances, and Bombs: The Constitution at War
An area where the President is most powerful under the U.S Constitution is in regard to foreign policy and war. However, the President's power is not unlimited and can be checked by other political institutions. This project examines the conditions under which Congress and the Supreme Court successfully constrain the President as Commander in Chief.
