Bio
(1) I enjoy building up people around me and helping students achieve their full potential. I am University of Pennsylvania-trained biomedical PhD where I worked on mechanisms of resistance to cancer therapies. There I led cross-functional teams spanning across clinical investigators at the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn as well as pharmaceutical companies that have funded our oncology clinical trials. We utilized state-of-the-art biomedical technologies to interrogate underlying cancer disease biology and to devise therapeutic strategies to treat these diseases. (2) My personal interests include kickboxing, cycling, and wellness-related activities (e.g., long walks in the park).Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Emerging biomedical discoveries with commercial potential - biotech
Trying to convince someone that your idea is a good one is a learned skill that can be refined with practice. It is an acquired skillset in both the: (1) written format as well as the (2) verbal format. Research project ideas: (1) Identifying emerging biomedical observations (e.g., AI for drug discovery) that have high potential to benefit humankind, (2) Evaluating the commercial viability of a biomedical discovery or publicly traded biotech company of your choice, and drafting a proposal to commercialize the product (a core work flow for pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, and biology-focused financial companies).
Teaching experience
As a PhD Student at Penn I mentored both early-stage graduate students as well as undergraduate students in the biology laboratory settingCredentials
