- Research Program Mentor
MFA Master of Fine Arts candidate
Screenwriting, creative writing, screenplay formatting
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
In order to become better at writing scripts, you must write scripts. The student can decide between writing a short, a TV pilot, or a feature-length script, which will follow the three-act structure of screenwriting. It can belong to any genre or be a blend of multiple genres. The script will also have proper formatting. This project will help the student become a more proficient screenwriter, in addition to having written work to submit to screenwriting contests, fellowships, and even producers if they build those connections.
