Abstract or project description
This research will seek to understand the correlation between player performance and salary in professional soccer, especially within and between their respective leagues. I will explore how players of the same position are valued differently between leagues, as well as which players are over- vs. under-valued. I will do this by analyzing the relationship between player performance and contract data across the top 5 professional European men’s soccer leagues. This research will uncover the demands and preferences of each league for talent at each position, as well as what truly determines a player’s salary.
