Abstract or project description
The Super Bowl and Coachella are known for being huge events, raking in millions of dollars every year to Coachella Valley and the host city of the Super Bowl. Each year, these events enhance tourism through the attendees eating at restaurants and staying at hotels. However, in recent research, the Super Bowl’s estimated numbers for financial effects have been shown to be inflated in comparison to the actual results. In contrast, Coachella’s impact has been the same in both expectation and reality. Using research papers and news articles, I aim to analyze how the actual economic impacts of the Super Bowl and Coachella compare to the implications set by the companies and media who cover these events.
