Using BH3 profiling to determine the role of apoptosis in the tumor microenvironment

Started Nov. 6, 2020

Abstract or project description

Lauren will be writing a research proposal on the role of apoptotic cell death in regulating immune cell infiltration into the tumor microenvironment. Lauren will be reading more about how the technique of BH3 profiling can be applied to understanding the apoptosis susceptibility of immune cells. She will then propose to study how apoptosis limits immune activity against cancer and investigate how BH3 mimetics and conventional chemotherapy influence T cell survival. This proposal will allow Lauren to learn a great deal about how to propose and conduct research, and will be a great work product to show to a future lab mentor as evidence of her dedication and intellect.
