Chloe Zimmerman

Chloe Zimmerman is an interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, writer, and educator based in Providence, Rhode Island. Working across analogue film, video, installation, drawing, language art, and pedagogical experimentation, her research-based practice explores relationships between art, ecology, language, and collective learning. Chloe holds an MFA from Brown University and has taught creative practices in universities, museums, libraries, community biology labs, parks, and alternative art schools. She founded the Mycological Research Playgroup, a research group exploring fungi through artistic practice, and Meshwork, a study group for poets and scholars focused on correspondence, entanglement, and relational outcomes. Her films have screened at venues including the Criterion Channel, UnionDocs, Anthology Film Archives, the Poetry Project, and MoMA PS1, and she is a recipient of the LEF Flaherty Fellowship, SMFA Traveling Fellowship, and UnionDocs Collaborative Fellowship. As an educator, Chloe is especially passionate about helping students transform their interests and questions into thoughtful, meaningful creative work.
