Abstract or project description
Research Question: How does womanist theory help solidify Black women and Black Femme's identity?
This will be a qualitative study exploring womanism in connection to Black women’s identity. Zoe will recruit Black women between the ages of 18-30 who self-identify as womanists or have prior knowledge of womanism. Zoe will conduct 3 semi-structured 50-60 minute focus groups consisting of 3 participants each. After each each focus group Zoe will transcribe the discussions and complete a thematic analysis to determine common themes that arise.
