How does the properties of fundamental particles that construct different mediums affect the propagation of momentum?

Started May 22, 2023

Abstract or project description

This project will be an article based on researched results that examines a number of different mediums, starting from the most commonly seen ones in our daily life, onto more rare, and complicated materials. The main focus will be investigating how the characteristics and properties of the fundamental particle and their structures affect how momentum propagates through them. Thus, also how utilizing the speed of sound is able to reveal some fundamental properties regarding different materials. The speed of sound and the propagation of momentum is a very fundamental property of materials, which relates with concepts such as density, particle structure, elasticity, thermodynamics and other characteristics. In future discoveries, these properties can be used both in practical functions, such as understanding the materials’ properties in terms of engineering uses, as well as understanding the properties of newly discovered materials.
