A Julia codebase using Regge calculus for Numerical relativity

Started Mar. 6, 2026

Abstract or project description

The study will evaluate the stability and accuracy of the Parallel Implicit Evolution Scheme (PIES) for Regge calculus for various initial conditions that increase in complexity, including gauge wave tests, black holes, and universe models (if they are stable enough), with proper boundary conditions and error corrections applied. We will compare the results to BBH and other benchmarks to standard numerical methods like BSSN, and to analytical solutions of the Einstein equations. An analysis of the algorithm's performance and convergence will be presented and compared to other approaches, highlighting its possible strengths in memory usage and weaknesses in speed. Potential improvements and extensions, such as adding matter, will also be discussed.
