The effects of a growth mindset on cognitive flexibility

Abstract or project description
Vishwa's interested in how having a growth mindset can influence cognitive function. Specifically, she wants to see if it can affect someone's ability to perform on the Stroop Task. By probing them with a prompt ahead of time, and then possibly prompting them throughout, she thinks that there would be better performance when a cognitive task is approached with a growth or positive mindset vs. a neutral mindset. She's planning on collecting her own data and completing an IRB to do the project. She is also interested in collecting data from peers (in her school) and adults which may lend insight into how development may be impacted by a growth vs. neutral mindset.
