Using a Fully Convolutional Neural Network to determine the location of Talus Slopes in the King’s Canyon Area

Started Apr. 8, 2022

Abstract or project description

Many people die from rockfall every year when out in the wilderness. The purpose of this research is to use artificial intelligence in order to find the location of talus slopes, which are the aftermath of rockfall. This information can help by finding possible talus slope locations, which can help find locations where rockfall is likely to occur. This research will be completed with the use of a convolutional neural network, which is a neural network made using 2D convolutional layers, among other things.
