Sohum's project is about using social, economic, and demographic factors to predict the mortality rate for women. Specifically, Sohum wants to incorporate these analytics into an app to track mortality for his non-profit organization. This topic is important because women in developing countries typically don't have much access to employment and education opportunities, which leads to high rates of child marriages and illiteracy. Sohum aims to target treatments to these factors so that the mortality situation for women can be alleviated.
