Ethiopia's Akaki River Watershed: An Overview of Water pollution Causes, Trends, Impacts, and Continued Remediation Strategies.

Abstract or project description

My student is conducting a literature review on analyzing the factors, trends, impacts, and Remediation strategies of river pollution for the Akaki River Watershed of Addis Ababa city in Ethiopia. He will be investigating the causes, Trends, and how activities from farming and urban economies have caused adverse environmental and public health using scientific articles primarily and also government or agency reports. He will also review management, policy, and remediation activities that have taken place so far, highlighting major successes and failures. Finally, he will capture opportunities for continued remediation by looking at global examples to list as recommendations. He plans to make a few figures (tables or graphs) to help visualize these topics as well.
