Building a Custom Gimbaled Rocket

Abstract or project description
This project will explore the design and fabrication of a model rocket with a gimbaled engine. We will first design a gimbal that can house a small model rocket engine, then actuate the gimbal with servos and a microcontroller. Depending on the progress over the summer, we will also consider methods to integrate the gimbal into a rocket frame and construct algorithms to stabilize the rocket. We will run simulations to try to tune our algorithm so that the rocket can remain stabilized for the majority of its flight.
