Projects

Project Portfolio

Which airfoil geometries offer the best compromise between maximum lift, controllability, and drag for a dual-mission UAV designed for both short-field takeoff extended loitering flight, or in endurance/payload scoring missions, like those in AIAA or NASA student competitions?

Abstract or project description

This project will look at improving stall performance for airfoils. We will use XFOIL to establish the viscous effects that are dominant in the boundary layer. We will also leverage 3D CFD to model the entire wing.
