Investigating the Effects of 3D Printed Drone Propeller Shape on Efficiency

Started Nov. 1, 2022

Abstract or project description

Ray is investigating propeller efficiency. He would like to 3D print drone propellers and compare their efficiency by measuring current required to produce a fixed amount of thrust. He is doing this by building a propeller test stand from scratch. Ray currently has designed (from scratch) a PCB to control his propeller by hand using a potentiometer. Next, he will control the propeller in closed loop by designing a PID controller and put this piece of software on a microcontroller.
