Premier League - The Dominant Force in European Football

Started Sept. 19, 2025

Abstract or project description

This research focuses on the economic, commercial, and structural factors that have enabled the English Premier League to establish and maintain its dominance over other major European soccer leagues over the past decade. By examining financial strength, revenue distribution, and commercial growth, the study analyzes how these elements shape competitive balance and player mobility across Europe’s top five leagues: the EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1. Statistics from the past ten years will be analyzed, including club revenues, broadcasting deals, sponsorship values, player transfer spending, and competitive success in European competitions. Ultimately, this research seeks to provide insight into how economic power, media exposure, and policy frameworks make the Premier League what it is today.
