This paper deals with social media companies' extensive surveillance of users’ data and concerns about user privacy and data protection. With the widespread use of social media platforms, concerns about Internet surveillance and the monitoring of the general public have grown substantially.Understanding how social media companies surveil users is crucial to understanding privacy implications and potential data misuse. In this paper, I conduct a survey to gain public insight on this topic, where I conducted a survey to gather statistical data about whether people have experienced privacy breaches through Internet surveillance. While social media companies have harnessed technology for surveillance, this nature raises concerns over privacy, data control, and misuse. Balancing benefits and risks is crucial for responsible and ethical use of these platforms.
