Abstract or project description
Nathan plans to synthesize a scientific review research paper discussing the side effects of long-term topical corticosteroid (TCS) use in children ages 0-18 with eczema. He plans to investigate the mechanism of action of topical corticosteroids, reported timelines for clinical improvement with TCS use, and the various dermatological and systemic side effects of long-term TCS use in his target population. Additional subtopics may evolve as writing progresses. With a personal connection to this investigation, Nathan intends for his paper to be a helpful informative resource for pediatric eczema patients so that risks of side effects with TCS use can be mitigated.
