Nakshatra’s project examines the underrepresentation of women in senior leadership positions within business management and explores whether women are compensated equally and evaluated under similar standards as their male counterparts. The paper analyzes structural, cultural, and organizational factors that contribute to leadership disparities. Using existing research and economic data, the project investigates how gender gaps in leadership influence company performance, profitability, innovation, and broader economic outcomes. The study draws on reports from institutions such as UN Women and McKinsey to identify measurable patterns and economic consequences. Ultimately, the project seeks to connect gender equity in leadership to both business effectiveness and long-term economic growth.
