Abstract or project description
The project will be in the form of a review paper examining various potential gene therapy treatments for thalassemia, along with their efficacy and how this compares to the existing conventional treatments for thalassemia. Different types of thalassemia based on various genetic mutations will be examined alongside the relevant treatment approaches and their effectiveness for different severities of thalassemia. The information in this paper will be supported by various scientific papers, studies, and clinical trials backed up by statistics for patients of different age ranges and geographic locations. Based on this information, the paper will discuss how these gene therapies can be further developed in order to benefit patients.
