Hey! My name is Nadira Ahmed, a student passionate about healthcare and environmental justice advocacy. I created my own passion project, "Medical Eye", which is a Youtube Channel that researches topics in healthcare such as dermatological practices, gender inequality in the medical field, and more! I am also a small business owner of a tutoring company, Pacific Pines Tutoring LLC, which provides access to affordable education services for K-8 students. Outside of academics and my business ventures, I like to practice martial arts, go to the gym, or engage in anything active! Abstract or project description
My student's topic encompasses the environmental justice issue the Bay Mills tribal community is facing. The tribal community experiences inadequate healthcare accessibility and infrastructure. Furthermore, the community now faces an environmental exposure threat. The oil drilling and pipelines pollute the water surrounding the community with PFAS and other chemicals. These chemicals contaminate the water, soil, and fish the tribal community is reliant upon. The memo will introduce these issues and explore recommendations for future intervention plans.
