About

Hello! My name is Michelle Lou and my Polygence project is on how the US government influences interest rates to best regulate banks. I chose to work on this project because I was fascinated by how they correlated with each other and the meaning that lied behind them. I would like to publish my work!

How can the US government influence interest rates to best regulate banks?

Started Feb. 25, 2023

Abstract or project description

In this paper, I’ll begin by introducing Interest rates and banks and their purposes. Followed by describing terms that correlate with them (such as MBS, Interest rates lowered, long-term debt, and liquidity). Then talking about how the US government can influence changes (interest rates) and include examples of banks that have run well and poorly (A specific example SVB). I also included general examples that covered interest rates, banks, and the Federal Reserve to combine the three things and show the audience how they interplay with each other. Finally providing recommendations and elaborates on the ideas and points previously made.
