Teens' perspectives on E-cigarettes vs. traditional cigarettes

Though e-cigarettes are marketed vastly differently than traditional cigarettes, many of their potential health risks remain similar. While current media poses e-cigarettes as a healthy alternative, the truth remains that e-cigarettes contain the same adverse effects, just at a reduced level. Many e-cigarette companies have marketed their products towards younger generations, and there have been rising rates of teens using e-cigarettes, due to the thinking that they are healthy alternatives to smoking. In this literature review, we will review the current literature on teen perspectives of e-cigarettes compared to traditional cigarettes, and the different factors that contribute to this thinking.
