Abstract or project description

This project consists of 3 steps:

1. The painting "Self Portait with a Harp" by Rose-Adélaïde Ducreux is analyzed for both cultural context and fashion content.
2. The type of dress worn in the painting is researched for garment construction, fabric, and silhouette, with the understanding of the other garments that shape the dress underneath.
3. The garment is constructed in a historically accurate manner to reflect what such a dress may have looked like.
