Project Portfolio

A review of the neuroanatomy of dissociative disorders and their linkage to symptoms

Started Sept. 21, 2022

Abstract or project description

Lucas is interested in writing a literature review that explores the relationships among various brain structures and symptoms of dissociative disorders. Specifically, he is interested in researching dissociative identity disorder and dissociative amnesia. He will also be studying neurobiological correlates of trauma since this is theorized to be one of the causes of dissociative symptoms. While drafting his paper outline, he also identified other related areas to bolster his paper arguments including MRI data and other biomarkers of dissociative symptoms. Lucas will also be identifying whether there are any gaps in the literature regarding the neurological bases of dissociative disorders.
