Fatigue vs. Performance in IPL T20 Cricket Matches

Started Apr. 14, 2025

Abstract or project description

To be completed by Kheerthan - The project thoroughly looks at how accumulated fatigue influences a better decision-making and shot execution during the early stages of their innings (first 5 balls) in Ipl t20 cricket. Specifically, investigating whether fatigue, measured through factors such as recent match workload, overs fielded, and schedule congestion (how many games back to back in the past week?) increases the likelihood of a player attempting or successfully hitting a six within their first five deliveries. By analyzing ball-by-bal data and contextual match conditions, this ML/study looks to quantify the relationship between physical or mental fatigue and early-innings aggression. The end result, and findings could give valuable insights for player rotation strategies, laid management, and optimizing performance in high intensity t20 formats, as well as could provide limitations for specific players to go aggressive early in the innings.
