Project entails: Comparison of different ecodesign strategies (recycling metals vs plastics) Why do we see different strategies? Which one is best “for the business”/economically/profitably? Which one is best for the environment/sustainability?

Project methods: Deep dive into business/engineering of ecodesign/materials recycling. Research environmental consequences. Research business/economic impacts of design decisions. Research consumer demand. Research available technology. Research market structure & incentives (e.g. government subsidies) Develop theory of why we see different strategies. Apply insights from the theory to improve ecodesign in general.
