How does attachment style and early childhood experiences contribute to the etiology of Borderline Personality Disorder?

Started May 30, 2024

Abstract or project description

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a mental health disorder characterized by patterns of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and emotions. This paper will explore the role of attachment style in the etiology of BPD. Insecure attachment styles disrupt early childhood development, possibly leading to the emergence of this personality disorder. Additionally, experiences like abuse and neglect, a manifestation of insecure attachment styles, can contribute to the development of BPD. Understanding these contributing factors can aid in creating effective prevention and treatment strategies, emphasizing the importance of early relationships in psychological health.

Individual psychological differences that influence high school athlete sport performance

Started Apr. 27, 2023

Abstract or project description

Isabella would like to write a review paper on the individual psychological differences that influence high school athlete sport performance. She would like to compare and contrast different sport environments (team or individual sport) as well. We'll focus on different psychological factors that might influence sport success, including conscientiousness, extroversion, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and self-efficacy. Lastly, she will talk about how we can apply this information to help athletes and coaches in the future.
