Abstract or project description

This paper examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in creative media, with a focus on narrative design and game development. This paper will use two projects made without generative AI. First is a narrative game The Sorcerer and the long-form manuscript Unbridled. The study will show the differences between human-centered creative processes and AI-assisted. It will demonstrate AI’s contributions to code changes, writing, and narrative revision to see how it differs. It will show both the advantages and disadvantages of machine learning systems in artistic practice. The conclusion shows that while AI is effective at enhancing efficiency, structure, and polish it lacks experimental depth, intentionality, and interpretive judgment for human works of art. Comparative analysis shows that AI functions most effectively as a tool, serving as an editor or audience surrogate, instead of as an autonomous author. Preserving originality in the AI-powered age depends on sustaining human ownership of vision, meaning, and creative responsibility.
