Can a classical LM model correctly identify insects based on visual data?

Abstract or project description

The project focuses around insect identification. We will explore different methods like LLMs as well as classical ML methods to get an understanding of how AI and ML work. The final product will take the form of an app where users can ask questions or upload and image and get back an identification and more metadata. We will use the best performing model on the backend.
