Abstract or project description
In this project I aim to look at the shifts of women's fashion and how that relates to major events in American history. I will be examining 3 events/time periods: the American Revolution, the Civil War, and World War II. For each of these time periods, I will look at how fashion changed and why. Through these shifts, I hope to explore the experience and change thereof of the mindsets and way of life of those living in America from its birth to today. I also aim to investigate what the change in women's fashion can further reveal, in addition to what we already know regarding these major events in American history.
