How can we use machine learning to extrapolate data from CSF biomarkers to learn more about neurodegenerative diseases?

Started June 29, 2023

Abstract or project description

The newly discovered glymphatic system in neuroscience leads to a greater understanding of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and its connection with metabolic waste disposal. As CSF travels and circulates the brain, deadly by-products accumulate. If not filtered properly by the glymphatic system, these by-products lead to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. By using machine learning and technology, we can develop programs that will help analyze data for these CSF biomarkers. In this paper, we hope to promote the usage of machine learning, specifically AI, in order to further understand CSF, neurodegenerative diseases, and the glymphatic system.
