Abstract or project description
Ethan's project is focused on recent advancements in the field of surgery spanning a variety of technologies across surgical specialties. Surgery is based on technology and engineering at its core (tools, imaging, etc.), and it changes rapidly as these fields progress. Recently, a number of new advancements in augmented reality, live diagnostics, robotics, and more have begun to change surgical practice in specific areas. Through this project, Ethan will research cutting-edge technologies that are beginning to be implemented in surgery, how they are changing the field, and what the future of surgery looks like. He will build an informational website as a resource for disseminating this information.
