About

Hi! My name is Esha Cheedella and my project is on determining if oxysterol eye drops are a viable treatment to reduce cataract lens clouding. Recently, my grandma had cataract surgery and it lead me to think about how large the scope of this issue is. I started to think about how lower socioeconomic classes weren't able to cure their cataracts due to limited access to surgical treatments, and then I learned about eye drops treatments. In the future, I would like to do lab experiments with this specific topic. Also I said in another question that I didn't want to do coding, but I would like to implement that in my project. Whether that is a computational analysis or simulation.

Understanding Associations between Cataracts and Cancer

Started July 31, 2025

Abstract or project description

Esha is interested in cataract pathology, and her project will look at the associations between pts with eye cancer and their expression on cataract genes. She will compare groups by age, gender, and gene expression to see if there is an association between having a cataract gene mutations and having an eye cancer.
