Abstract or project description

Ellie’s paper will focus on the ethics of psychiatry, exploring both its historical and contemporary aspects. She will specifically examine the role of psychiatry during the Holocaust, highlighting its involvement in unethical practices. The literature review will cover key subtopics such as sterilization, eugenics, insurance practices, and the overprescription of psychiatric medications. By tracing these practices from the past to the present, Ellie aims to shed light on the ongoing ethical challenges in the field. The paper will provide a comprehensive overview of how psychiatry has evolved, with a critical look at its darker history and its current ethical dilemmas.
